Why this site exists

In 2025, our founder started researching solar panels for his own home. What he found was a mess — scattered Reddit threads, YouTube comment sections, outdated comparison sites designed to collect your phone number, and no single place that had honest, comprehensive information.

So he built what he wished existed.

INeedSolar uses real UK solar irradiance data broken down by region, actual energy tariff rates, and genuine product specifications. Our quiz generates personalised reports using calculations based on MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) guidance — the same standard professional installers use.
