How we keep INeedSolar free

INeedSolar participates in the Amazon Associates Programme and the Sunstore affiliate programme. When you click a product link on our site and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

This affiliate revenue is what keeps INeedSolar free to use — no paywalls, no selling your data, no cold calls. Just honest solar advice funded by the products we genuinely recommend.

Our editorial process

We recommend products we would use ourselves. Affiliate relationships do not influence which products we recommend or how we rate them. If a product or service is the best option but is not available via an affiliate programme, we still recommend it.

If we would not recommend something to a friend, it does not appear on INeedSolar — regardless of commission rates.

Installer comparison services

We also link to installer comparison services and individual installers. Some of these are affiliate relationships where we earn a referral fee; others are not. We link to them because they help you get quotes from MCS-certified installers, not because of the commission structure.

Where we link to Octopus Energy, we use a referral link that gives you £50 credit and us £50 credit. This is disclosed wherever the link appears. We recommend Octopus because of their smart export tariffs and customer service, not because of the referral programme.
